The Atlantic City Police Foundation (Police Foundation) is proud to announce
that the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation (FBBCF) has
awarded a $30,000 grant to support the Foundation’s community policing and
youth-oriented initiatives.

The Police Foundation has been honored to receive similarly sized grants from
the FBBCF since its inception. This latest award continues a meaningful
tradition of partnership rooted in shared values of service, community, and
opportunity.

The grant was presented during a special ceremony on November 12, 2025, at
Gourmet Italian Cuisine in Galloway, New Jersey. Atlantic City Police Chief
James Sarkos and members of the executive committee of the Police
Foundation were present to accept the award on behalf of the organization.
With this grant, the Police Foundation will continue to expand and strengthen
programs such as:

• Youth mentoring and leadership development
• Police-community outreach events
• Recreational and educational activities that bring Atlantic City’s young people
and law enforcement officers together

These initiatives foster positive relationships, promote understanding, and
create safe, constructive opportunities for learning, growth, and civic
engagement.

As a nonprofit charity dedicated to filling funding gaps not covered by
municipal budgets, including training, community outreach, and equipment,
the Police Foundation relies on the generosity of organizations like FBBCF to
amplify its mission.

The Police Foundation extends its deepest thanks to the board, staff, and
supporters of the FBBCF. The FBBCF’s signature event, the Ben to the Shore
Bike Tour, draws thousands of cyclists annually and raises vital funds for child-
focused and first responder support programs.
