Lori S. Herndon is a retired healthcare executive and the founder of Herndon Bayside Health, LLC, where she provides consulting in system clinical integration, senior leadership mentoring and development, cost structure evaluation and optimization, strategic planning, and other executive disciplines.

Lori served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AtlantiCare Health System, the region’s largest healthcare provider with more than 6,000 employees, 1,000 physicians, and over 100 service locations from 2016-2023. During her four-decade career at AtlantiCare, she advanced from staff nurse to system CEO and also served as Chair of the New Jersey Hospital Association Board of Trustees.

Lori is deeply engaged in community leadership. She is an Officer and Board Member of the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, serves on the Atlantic City Police Foundation Board, and is a member of Stockton University’s Women’s Leadership Council, where she mentors the region’s next generation of leaders. An avid athlete, she has completed the Brigantine Triathlon nearly 20 times.

Her leadership and service have been recognized with numerous honors, including the NJBiz Healthcare Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award (2023), Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” (2022), and induction into the Atlantic County Women’s Hall of Fame (2014). She holds a nursing diploma from Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stockton University, and a Master of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
