James W. McGowan

James McGowan brings more than 25 years of distinguished service in law enforcement and executive leadership to his current role in casino security and investigations. He served with the New Jersey State Police for 27 years, including 16 years in executive positions, before transitioning to an executive role at Tropicana Atlantic City Boardwalk Resort and Casino.

Throughout his career, James has developed a reputation for elevating professionalism and thoroughness in complex investigations, crisis management, and high-profile incidents. He spent two decades investigating and supervising homicides and police-involved shootings, while also excelling in operational management, internal investigations, and large-scale event security.

James frequently collaborates with local law enforcement agencies, community leaders, corporate partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and strong partnerships. His broad expertise spans casino security, investigations, and crisis response.

A longtime resident of Linwood, New Jersey, James is also deeply committed to community service. He has served on numerous boards, including the Atlantic Cape 200 Club, and has been actively involved in several youth sports organizations.
