Henry White, Jr.


Chief Henry M. White Jr. (Retired) is a 35-year veteran of the Atlantic City Police
Department, serving from 1985 until his retirement on October 1, 2020. He was appointed
Chief of Police in December 2013 and led the department through the administrations of
four Atlantic City mayors.
As Chief, he emphasized community policing, creation of the Neighborhood Coordination
Officer program, quality-of-life initiatives, and technological advancements, including the
deployment of body-worn cameras and the establishment of a modern surveillance center.
Chief White co-founded the Atlantic City Police Foundation in 2013 and currently serves as
its Vice Chair. In this role, he helps guide the Foundation’s mission to support officer
training, technology, youth programming, and community outreach efforts that strengthen
public safety across Atlantic City.
He is also a principal of Superior Security Consultants, a firm providing armed and unarmed
security services. In addition, he is active with professional and civic organizations,
including the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), where
he serves as Chairperson of the Constitution & Bylaws Committee for the New Jersey
chapter, the Atlantic City Branch of the NAACP, where he serves on the executive
committee. and is a member of the Board of Director’s for the Atlantic City Police Athletic
League (PAL).
Over the course of his distinguished career, Chief White has been the recipient of numerous
local and state awards and recognitions honoring his leadership, service, and dedication to
the Atlantic City community.
