Alex Marino


Alex Marino currently serves as director of academic operations for Stockton University’s Atlantic City campus. Since joining Stockton in 1996, he has held multiple administrative and leadership roles. He is theUniversity’s longest-serving employee in Atlantic City, beginning with the opening of the Carnegie Library Center in 2004 and continuing through the planning, construction, and opening of the Atlantic City campus in September 2018.
Mr. Marino is actively engaged in the community, serving on several nonprofit and civic boards. He is Chair of the Community Advisory Board for Jewish Family Services, serves on the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (EggHarbor Township) Advisory Board, the UNITE HERE Local 54 Scholarship Committee, the Atlantic City Police Foundation, and the Metropolitan Business and CitizensAssociation (MBCA), where he is Chairman Emeritus of the Scholarship Committee.
His previous public service includes two terms as anAtlantic County Freeholder (now Commissioner) and six years as a member of theLinwood City Council. He has also volunteered as a coach with the MainlandYouth Lacrosse program, with the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania andSouthern New Jersey, as a trustee of the Atlantic County Historical Society, and as a member of the South Jersey Cultural Alliance and the Rotary Club ofAtlantic City. In 2025, he and his wife, Bonnie, were honored as Citizens of the Year by the City of Linwood.
Mr. Marino earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stockton State College (now Stockton University), a master’s degree inHigher Education Administration from the University of Denver, and a post-graduate certificate in Higher Educational Leadership from WidenerUniversity. He is a graduate of Leadership New Jersey (2010), a statewide public policy fellowship, and has completed the Downtown RevitalizationInstitute offered by Main Street New Jersey and the New Jersey Department ofCommunity Affairs.
He resides in Linwood with his wife, Bonnie, and their three children—Patrick, Madeline, and Mac.
